The most common type of sports wager is on the result of a single game, known as a straight wager. One team is typically favored over another by a pointspread; the favorite gives the underdog points as a head start, for betting purposes only. The favorite is always indicated by a minus sign (-3) and the underdog by a plus sign (+3). The amount of points a customer must give or take is estimated to be the amount which will generate equal wagering on both the underdog and the favorite. For betting purposes, the result of the game is determined by taking the actual score and subtracting points from the favorite's score or adding points to the underdog's score. So, a favorite can win the game but lose it for betting purposes and an underdog can lose the game but win it for betting purposes. A customer can also bet whether the combined number of points or goals scored by the two teams in the game will be over or under the total set by the oddsmaker. For example, if the total is 42 and you believe that the combined points scored by the two teams will exceed that number, you would bet over. You would bet under if you believe the total points score will be less than 42.

Money Line

A bet on a matchup between two teams may be set by a money line instead of a pointspread. If a matchup is determined by a money line, like Major League Baseball, then it will cost the customer more to wager on the favorite. For example, the Atlanta Braves are a -150 favorite over the Chicago Cubs. In this example, the customer must lay $150 in order to win $100. If Atlanta loses, the customer loses $150. However, the customer could bet on Chicago, in which case the customer would lay $100 in order to win $140 (10 cent line). If Chicago loses, the customer only loses $100, and if Chicago wins, the customer would win $140.

Bet Acceptance

• It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure details of their bets are correct. Once bets have been placed and their acceptance confirmed they may not be cancelled or changed.
  
• Bets must be made online at the web site. No postal, fax, e-mail or telex bets are accepted and if received will be made void, win or lose.
  
• All odds are subject to variation and become fixed only at the time of bet acceptance. However, despite every effort to ensure complete accuracy, Sport jouant cannot be held responsible for any typing, human or palpable error which leads to any errors or omissions, including the announcing, publishing or marking of odds or results, other than those intended, or bets being accepted which contravene Sport jouant 's rules. In cases where a bet has been accepted at an incorrect price, Sport jouant reserves the right to void the bet.
  
• Management at Sport jouant reserves the right to suspend markets at anytime. When a market is suspended any bets entered will be rejected. Sport jouant also reserves the right to cease betting on any market at any time without notice.
  
• Online bets are not guaranteed unless a final transaction screen is seen. If in doubt, customers should review their open bets listed on their account. When a bet is placed and accepted, the relevant amount is charged against the customer's account, regardless of when the result is determined.
  
• All bets will be deemed final once a member has received their final confirmation. This confirmation will inform the member that their wager has been placed and will also serve as a receipt in case the member wishes to claim a discrepancy within the allotted 24 hour time period.
  
• All odds displayed are for information only and do not constitute offers from Sport jouant to accept any bet at those or any other odds and Sport jouant reserves the right to refuse any bet or part of any bet at any time in its absolute discretion without giving reason for doing so.
  
• Sport jouant reserves the right to void any or all bets made by any person or group of persons acting in an attempt to defraud Sport jouant where there is evidence of price, race, match or event rigging. Where evidence exists of rigging or of some other act which has unfairly affected the result, or where there is evidence of a series of bets each containing the same selections(s) having been placed by or for the same individual or syndicate of individuals, Sport jouant reserves the right to make bets void or withhold payment of returns pending the outcome of any subsequent investigation.
  
• All times stated on the web site and/or referred to by Sport jouant staff are as accurate as possible, however it is the responsibility of the player to ensure the time is accurate. Sport jouant accept no responsibility for errors in times of events, however caused. Any bet accepted, in error, after the start of an event that is not betting in-running or for an event that has already taken place, or where betting has been suspended, will be void, win or lose. Any bet accepted in error after the start of an event on a market that is not being traded in running will be void
  
• When an event is postponed and then rescheduled to take place at an alternate venue, Sport jouant reserve the right to void all bets placed on the original event.
  
• No credit will be offered by any employee of Sport jouant , and all bets must be supported by sufficient funds in the customer account. Sport jouant reserves the right to void any bet which may have inadvertently been accepted when the account did not have sufficient funds to cover the bet. Should funds be credited to a customer's account in error it is the customer's responsibility to inform Sport jouant without delay.
  
• All winnings will be credited to the customer account. Any funds/winnings credited to an account in error are not available for use, and Sport jouant reserves the right to void any transactions involving such funds, either at the time or retrospectively.
  
• Sport jouant shall in no circumstances be liable for any damages or losses which are deemed or alleged to have arisen out of or in connection with Sport jouant 's website or its content; including without limitation, delays or interruptions in operation or transmission, loss or corruption of data, communication or lines failure, any person's misuse of the site or its content or any errors or omissions in content.
  
• Bets are processed in the order they are received.
  
• If any sums are mistakenly credited to your account, through either an error on the part of us or yourself, it shall be up to you to point this out. Failure to do so will void any subsequent wins caused by this error, either directly or indirectly. In such an event Sport jouant reserves the right to take the necessary action to ensure that both parties are returned to the same position financially as that held immediately prior to the error being made.
